1. Overheating

The first and the most talked about issue related to the iPhone 15 series was the overheating problem. Users complained that the phones get way too hot while using and it becomes difficult to even hold them. Not only was the phone getting hot while charging or recording videos but even when doing tasks that were as simple as scrolling through social media apps. While some users interpreted this issue as a software problem, others linked it to the build of the new device.

2. iPhone Freeze During Setup

Here is another one of the iPhone 15 issues that was reported by the users soon after the iPhone 15 release date. There were some unlucky buyers of this new device who happened to remain trapped in an Apple logo boot-up loop. These users were unable to transfer data from their old iPhones to their new iPhones. However, this problem was instantly resolved by the company.

3. Fingerprint – Attracting Chassis

Here is an issue that cannot be resolved by a software update. The users of the new iPhone 15 complained that the titanium body of the device is causing trouble too. Fingerprints, dirt, and other blemishes are apparently more common on the new phones. Users even reported display alignment issues and scratches even for phones that were straight out of the box. For users who find such an issue, it is recommended to get the product returned or exchanged immediately.

4. Slow iOS

No one likes a sluggish phone and this was another reason for disappointment among the iPhone 15 users. People found it hard to tolerate slow software in their new smartphones. Being a software issue, this could also be easily resolved by the company, so customers didn’t lose hope.

5. iPhone 15 Breaks Too Easily!

Now this is the scariest one among all the iPhone 15 issues that we have discussed. Imagine spending a fortune on a phone only to find out that it is easily breakable. It has been proven by multiple people that the iPhone 15 doesn’t perform well when it comes to physical durability tests. Its performance was found to be much less as compared to iPhone 14.  However, the titanium body of the new iPhone is not solely to be blamed for this purpose. The curved edges are also suspected to be a reason for the device’s weaker body. Therefore, as soon as you buy the new iPhone, make sure that you secure it with a cover.

To the relief of the customers, Apple didn’t take too long to respond to the complaints of the users. Apple released an update to iOS 17, on Wednesday, October 4th. The update was meant to address a bug that was responsible for causing iPhone 15 Pro and other models to overheat. Moreover, the update also solved the slow iOS issue that the buyers were facing.

Apple made it clear that the physical properties of the phone i.e., titanium frame and aluminum substructure were not to be blamed for this issue. In fact, these materials are capable of dissipating heat better than stainless steel used in the previous iPhone models.

Apple further explained to the customers that the device may seem abnormally warmer in the first few days after setting up. This could be due to the increased background activity. After a few days, this issue is expected to automatically subside.

About the charging of the device, Apple stated that the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max support USB-C adapters that are compliant with the USB-C standard, including USB Power Delivery.  Apple further said that the iPhone regulates itself to cap charging to a maximum of 27 watts. If a 20-watt or higher charger is being used, the phone can temporarily get warmer than usual.

Third-Party Apps

Other issues faced by the customers were due to some recent updates to the third-party apps. These updates are problematic and are causing the apps to overload the system. Apple claimed that the company is working in coordination with these app developers. Hence, the fixes to these problems will also soon be accessible.

The recent updates to apps like Instagram, Uber, and Asphalt 9 overload the A17 Pro chip’s CPU. Therefore, the iPhone becomes too warm to hold comfortably. As a result of the coordination of Apple with third-party developers, Instagram introduced an update to the app on September 27th.

Conclusion

The major iPhone 15 issues have successfully been resolved as Apple released iOS 17.0.3. Efforts are still being made to optimize the efficiency of the device so that customers face no issues. To install the new update to your iPhone, go to Settings > General > Software Update, and click on Install Now.
