The idea

BuyingNerd is independent tech reviews. We started it because most of what we were reading was either a keyword-stuffed spec sheet with a coupon slapped on top, or a “best of” roundup where every product mysteriously scored 9/10. We wanted an honest bench, first-hand testing, specific verdicts, real prices, and a clear line between an editorial recommendation and an affiliate link.

Who “we” are

The editorial team of BuyingNerd, a small crew of writers who actually plug the gadgets in, install the software, and live with the products for weeks before we file. Between us we’ve tested laptops on redeye flights, wired smart-home hubs in three different flats, argued about the best noise-cancelling headphones on the school run, and killed at least one router by updating firmware at 2am. We publish weekly and we answer reader mail.

How we make money

We are reader-funded through affiliate links, the same price for you, a small commission for us when you buy through one of our links. It never decides our verdict, and if the best product loses us the commission it still wins the ranking. Full detail is in our Affiliate Disclosure.
